Christmas Concert

Last night was Bennett's Christmas Concert at our local Children's Treatment Centre. It was a great evening - the result of weeks of hard work and preparation. The gym was packed with people and kids - there was lots of laughter, applause and some tears (joyful of course!). Although I had reminded myself all day to bring kleenex, I forgot it in my coat and had to make do with a small paper napkin provided by my mother.

Bennett's therapists and some of the other staff had been telling me how much he was enjoying the rehearsals. Apparently during a preview performance Bennett got so caught up in the moment and the music that he fell off his bench!! Fortunately, after a couple kisses from his preschool leader he returned to the stage like a pro.

I apologize for the quality of the video and the distance. We got there early but the place was packed and seats were limited.

In this clip you can see that Bennett takes a moment to acknowledge his fans by waving.

I can't say enough about the staff at the treatment centre. They put so much work and enthusiasm into this project. I thanked every one I could but it doesn't seem enough for the gift of such a wonderful memory.

What a star! I concur - the staff at the Children's Treatment Centre are exceptional. I'm so glad Bennett is having this great start in life. Combine this with terrific parents, grandparents, and a brother (Murphy)who loves everyone unconditionally (and assumes everyone loves him) - what more could a boy want? Love to you all,
Auntie Bonnie

Gulp....apparently my emotional CTC feelings are still pretty close to the surface - maybe it's a good thing I missed the concert.

Bennett certainly looked happy to be in the spotlight. A natural star.

That "stick" routine brought back such memories for me.... When Kasia's group did it, she began whacking the little girl next to her over the head repeatedly with the sticks. Ah memories....

Bennett, you were by far the most wonderful, cutest and most talented little boy there. This is grandma speaking and we know she doesn't lie! LOL. You were wonderful as usual, as were all the kids up on that stage! It was a wonderful concert and we enjoyed every moment of it. Those who organized it all were super.......I can't imagine the work that went into organizing it especially since they are packing up getting ready to move to the new facility at the Laurentian Hospital. We are so fortunate to have physio-therapists, teachers, etc. who can work and love to work with kids with special needs.
Love them all.
Love you lots, hugs and kisses
