March Break

Sorry for the long break between posts. Jim and I took advantage of a physio free friday to go away for the weekend. We went to Toronto - yes the weather was terrible! However, we went to see Dirty Dancing at the Royal Alexandra - it was quite enjoyable. So, we had a nice weekend but Bennett probably had a better one. He hung out with Grandma and Grandpa and got spoiled for two days!

Here are two videos of Bennett. One shows him getting from a lying position to a sitting position. He can do this mostly on his own as you can see. Parents of "typical" children will think this is no big deal but to those with kids with hemiplegia it is a big milestone. Regardless of how you sit up, you need to use the muscles on both sides of your body - this is really hard for kids with hemiplegia - hence the grunting you hear in the video (the grunting is not Jim - HA!)

The second video is just of Bennett and daddy playing ball and having fun.

Hi Bennett,
WHERE ARE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU?
We really, really. MISS YOU!!!!!
Mommy and daddy said that you are being a perfect little traveler. Well, what did they expect? I always knew that you would be. Which is a good thing since we are going to snatch you and take you with us to Newfoundland this summer. THEN they'll KNOW what it's like with you gone!
The only thing wrong with our plan is that your sweet, lovable mommy will turn into a fierce mamma
grizzly bear. And we don't want to know what your daddy would do to us! Your mommy and daddy make one good butt kicking team. Soooooo, I guess we'll have to grow up and wait till you come home and then we are going to kiss you, and hug you and, and smooch you and....I don't know what else we'll do, but it will be good. Enjoy your visit with mummu and papa and everyone there.
Till we hear from you,
Lots of love, hugs and kisses
Grandma
PS - Your grandpa is lost here in the morning. He is one pityfull sight to see. I'll give him extra hugs and say that they are from you. Maybe that will make him feel better.
